Jade and Lucas

 The search for an identity

The Clone tells the love story between Jade (Giovanna Antonelli) and Lucas (Murilo Benício), that meet in Morocco.

She, a muslim and orphan, was going back to her uncle Ali's house (Stênio Garcia) after being raised in Brazil. He, a carioca and a twin of Diogo, was there on vacation with his brother, his father Leônidas (Reginaldo Faria), her father's girlfriend (Vera Fisher) and the scientist Albieri (Juca de Oliveira).

Jade and Lucas were separated because of cultural differences. Each one gets married in their own country

and have children. Lucas gets married to Maysa (Daniela Escobar) and Jade to Said (Dalton Vigh).

Meanwhile, the geneticist Albieri clones Lucas, moved by the pain of Diogo's death, his godson. The clone Leandro (Murilo Benício) grows up and the meeting happens: Lucas in front of his clone. Who is who? Lucas has no more dreams. Leandro has. But does a clone have a soul?

The Clone is about the search for an identity: of a muslim in crisis with her culture, of identical twins, of the conflict between clone and cloned and of man facing God.
